AAPER South Carolina Hosts Biggest Movie Night Yet, February 20, 2010
On February 20, 2010, AAPER South Carolina held a screening of the film, Slingshot HipHop. The chapter had their biggest turn-out yet, with over 55 people attending. This marks the first time that the chapter has held an event at Nickelodeon Theater, and one organizer reports, "Nickelodeon was very happy with us, as we were reaching a new audience for them." AAPER South Carolina is now planning its upcoming Palestine Film Festival - an initiative which will reach at least 25 cities throughout the United States!

AAPER South Carolina Hosts Movie Night, August 25, 2010
On August 25, 2010, AAPER South Carolina held the first of four scheduled Movie Nights. The chapter hosted a screening of West Bank Story, an Academy Award-winning film. An organizer reported: "We had 30 people attend, and we had a great discussion afterward. We want to try to DOUBLE our attendance next time by bringing at least one NEW friend to our next film." The second Movie Night, featuring The Color of Olives, will occur on September 29th.

AAPER New Mexico Hosts Citizen Hearing, August 19, 2010
On August 19, 2010, AAPER New Mexico held a citizen hearing featuring a local 'witness' who shared his reflections on his experiences in Palestine. One organizer reported, "[Our witnesses] included a perfect balance of extensive factual knowledge along with valuable experiential stories." Another added, "I think we did wonderfully....This is the type of event that ideally should happen monthly, every couple of months, or once a quarter, with different themes and with different speakers. [This time] we had 21 attendees; next time we might double the amount."

AAPER Cincinnati Launches, June 26, 2010
On June 26, 2010, Julia Hurley, AAPER's Public Education and Outreach Associate, introduced AAPER's work to a group of organizers in Cincinnati, Ohio. One attendee reported: "[Julia] was able to energize the group....A core group of volunteers accepted the challenge to start an AAPER chapter in Cincinnati. Others who did not want to lead the effort vowed to help on events and be volunteers. Many groups in Cincinnati have been looking for an effective way to change the policies of the U.S. toward the Palestinians and are now willing to work with AAPER to make this happen.

AAPER Minnesota Launches, June 26, 2010
On June 26, 2010, AAPER Minnesota held its chapter launch event. An organizer reported: "We had a great event and good turnout. Around 28 people attended. They were very interested in participating and helping. We were very excited, and the guests had a good impression about AAPER; they were especially impressed by the quality of the materials and the detailed plan."
